"Title: Scientist IV, BioQC Location: St. Joseph, MO Responsibilities: - Perform immunological, microbiological or molecular biological methods. - Order and maintain inventories of reagents and supplies and animals, if applicable. Collect samples, if applicable, and handle samples appropriately. - Operate and maintain calibrated standard equipment. Maintain a clean and orderly lab. - Carry out validated procedures, use SOPs and assay forms, follow good documentation practices and records retention procedures, and report assay results. - Document deviations and investigate SRI and OOS incidents. Keep up with training requirements in ComplianceWire. - Be familiar with Outlines of Production, Special Outlines, Supplemental Assay Methods, and US, European and Japanese Pharmacopoeia. - Be involved in assay transfer from R&D. Assist in preparing transfer protocol. Train analysts. - Review and revise OOPs, SOs, QSs, SOPs, forms and blue prints. Perform safety and lab audits. - Assist Manager in trending data, preparing special reports, qualifying critical reagents and references, conducting OOSs, and preparing technical responses to regulatory inquiries and citations. - Be an internal expert in bio-analytical assays. - Provide scientifically and technically sound evaluation and support of assay performance and trouble shooting. - Bring in new and emerging technology to BioQC. - Performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, etc.) and Company policy and procedures. Requirements: - MS degree in a related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant and productive experience, or a Ph.D. preferred in a related discipline with at least two years of relevant work experience. - Excellent knowledge of standard requirements for vet. biologics as stated by 9CFR, FDA, EP, & VICH. - Demonstrated experience in assay development and validation in compliance with guidelines of 9CFR, EP, and VICH. - Working knowledge of Biological R&D and QC operation and testing methods in vaccinology. - Hands-on technical skills in immunology, virology, microbiology, or molecular biology. - Excellent knowledge of statistics and statistical programs.
