You will report to the VP of engineering and work within a team of four other designers. This position is focused daily on design of equipment and machine components, manufacturability of products, troubleshooting design issues and communicating with sales and customers on design needs. This is a hands-on design position that requires candidates to work in 2D and 3D design environments. This position is involved daily in performing their own design projects and project management. Candidates should feel comfortable being on the floor up to 10-15% of the time communicating with the production staff. This company is focused on continuous improvement. This is a full-time opening on days. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated, able to work with minimal direction, have the ability to take ownership of design projects, able to problem solve, communicate well at all levels and be approachable. REQUIREMENTS for the Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer: 1. A bachelor’s degree in a engineering field 2. A minimum of 10 years in a design engineering role designing equipment for machinery or OEM manufacturers 3. AutoCAD 4. Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel Skills preferred but NOT required: 1. Metallurgical background 2. 3D modeling 3. Supervision of others Why work at this company: 1.
