"Job: Program DBA in Mumbai, India Basic Function:  The Technical Consultant provides solutions for technical issues reported by the customer in relation to core COMPANY products and multiple add-on products with strict compliance to the established support processes based on past experience and continual learning efforts. She/he will consult with the team lead, peers, seniors and various forum/ R&D members and refer the various COMPANY documentation sources to arrive at solutions to customer reported issues. This role is in a structured teaming environment, requiring continual learning and practice of existing product knowledge to maximize preparedness for any new issue.     Duties and Responsibilities: Is assigned technical support incidents of all severity levels related to core COMPANY products and multiple add-on products including QXtend To learn multiple COMPANY add-on products and start handling customer incidents reported in relation to the product Duplicates and analyses the reported issues on COMPANY internal environments Retrofits patches related to technical areas of COMPANY products, if required as part of a customer reported incident. Efficiently search COMPANY and Progress knowledge base solutions for customer reported problems and formulates reusable solutions to new, unique issues, or enhances existing solutions following KCS methodologies. Install COMPANY products and support COMPANY databases in both production and development environments. Monitor and report on database health and performance daily. Automate and script system database tasks; streamline processes; and perform standard administration functions as needed to maintain clean database environments. Configure and implement database backup recovery methods per the customer’s business processes. Write documentation for moderate complex issues (User Manuals, Build Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, etc.) to support the deployment to the customer. Participate in rotational 24/7 support. Enhance system efficiency through database performance tuning Create, deploy, test, and maintain backup and recovery plans. Perform Backup and Recovery of controlled databases. Stay abreast of new developments in the field and be a technical lead and resource to other team members. Responsible for mentoring entry level administrators. Provides technical guidance to technical support staff. Conducts Knowledge transfer sessions on specific topics based on expertise and as per the needs of the team Takes part in the training of new hires by providing training on select topics allotted by the training coordinator Assist with interviews in rare cases as per need Contribute to team success by helping team achieve the bonus targets set for the year Creation of Problem Analysis documents for issues identified as bugs Interact with customers in a professional manner in relation to the support incidents logged by them and demonstrate good communication skills and etiquette Liase with the different forums and team... http://bull.hn/l/14BQH/2"
