"Field Applications Engineer (FAE) About this job Relocation: No Roles and Responsibilities The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) in this position is responsible for providing technical support for the Company's Business Development Executives and Commercial End User accounts within their defined region. This candidate will be accountable to the commercial sales team and the field engineering director for all aspects of technical engagements required to support sales and account objectives in the region. The FAE will be required to support a broad range of end customers, technology partners and MNC accounts. The primary focus of the FAE will be to: - Develop technical relationships with end customers and partners - Win new commercial opportunities - Defend/support existing opportunities - Provide customer feedback to the Company's engineering/technical teams This position requires the FAE to have a broad technical understanding of The Company's commercial product portfolio with special emphasis on server platforms (blade, rack, tower, cluster), software environments and application performance. The position may require specialized knowledge of end user software environments including Operating systems (Windows and Unix based), compilers, benchmarks, and targeted applications for the following target markets: - Virtualization and Database computing, SQL, Oracle, VMWare and other relevant software - Cloud and Datacenter Computing Job Duties: The general overview of the FAEs job duty is to support the commercial sales process by working with BDEs and end customers to optimize performance for targeted applications running on THE COMPANY based platform solutions. This may include the following activities: a) On-site meetings with customers b) Profiling and analysis of target customer applications (proprietary or open source) c) Benchmark analysis and optimizations for targeted customer applications d) Provide technical guidance or recommendations for platform performance improvement (HW and SW) e) Provide technical training for customers or The Company's sales team f) Evaluation and research on competitive platforms, applications or technologies g) Presentation of The Company roadmaps or technology (Internal and External) h) Support for conferences or regional events (Presentation, HW demos, Customer meetings) i) Other duties required to support the sales team and customer base Requirements: This position requires an individual with excellent organizational and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation skills) with a good balance of hardware, architecture and software expertise. The successful candidate must demonstrate both the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. They must also demonstrate good time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong internal (Sales, Marketing, Engineering) and external (customer) relationships are required and the candidate must demonstrate a history of success in developing and maintaining technical relationships. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and the ability to manage complex problems involving multi-disciplined, cross-functional teams. Note: In this position regional travel is required."
