Responsibilities: The following responsibilities may include some or all of the following or any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the President. • Comply with ALL safety procedures including MSDS review for all chemicals used • Organize work orders and scheduling work according to priority on a daily basis for all currently active shifts, day shift, afternoon shift, and night shift • Monitor Production • Daily Supervision of Technicians in the Fire Assay Department • Ensure all analysis is produced on time for our customer needs with high quality • Knowledge and maintenance for all instruments in the Fire Assay Department according to Quality Control Procedures (QCP) • Perform procedures in the absence of a technician, or in the case of insufficient staffing • Motivate employees • Provide guidance and supervision so that SOP’s are understood and followed • Manage waste disposal • Foster and Maintain a positive environment by ensuring that all employees are treated with respect, grievances are dealt in a timely manner and communication with employees ensures a quality operation Skills: • High School Diploma and/or College Diploma in Fire Assay • Over 3 years working experience as a chemistry supervisor • Training in supervision • Ability to multitask and to meet deadlines • Works well under pressure • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Proven time management skills, take initiative • Quality driven, dynamic and is pro-active • Ability to work well independently and with others • Excellent interpersonal skills • Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English • Proficient in using various types of computer software: LIMS, Microsoft EXCEL, WORD • Knowledge of good laboratory practices and good management practices • Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety and Professional Conduct Policies Additional Information Actlabs offers a comprehensive benefit program.
