The incumbent will work cross functionally throughout the division and national engineering to lead and assist in the planning, design and implementation of various commercial Business Unit or NETO initiatives. The incumbent will also partner closely with the division Business Services group providing technical support as needed and helping to influence national engineering standards alignment with division goals and objectives. Responsibilities Develop relationships within the division, NETO , BU and other groups to establish the position as the main point-of-contact for the division for enterprise commercial services engineering initiatives and activities Participate in meetings and conference calls, provide guidance and leadership and take action as warranted to keep commercial engineering projects moving forward e.g. Metro E SUR launches, CBH roll outs Work with the BU and lead the division effort in the development of a plan to migrate legacy fiber customers to the new Metro E platform Work with the division and national engineering groups to develop improved and unified engineering records for enterprise commercial services e.g. head end fiber and port assignments, active transport etc Work with the division and national engineering groups to continually improve capacity monitoring and analysis tools for commercial services Work with the division, national engineering, commercial sales and finance groups to establish and track spending against budge Represent the division and meet as needed with NETO architecture and other groups to plan new service developments/initiatives and strategize on technology and deployment options, e.g. EoDOCSI Provide periodic updates to division senior leadership on various commercial services engineering initiatives and activities Peer and meet with other division leads across the enterprise to share best practices and garner support for key engineering standards alignment Meet with equipment vendors to stay current with technology trends and analyze the use new technology for the potential benefit of commercial services Assist in the development of contracts and agreements with vendors and suppliers as needed to carry out various division initiatives e.g. Cell Backhaul Test and Turn Up Provide technical support and mentorship to division Sales Engineers as required Provide executive level representation as needed to carrier and enterprise customer meetings and negotiations Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications 10-15 years telecom technology and deployment experience Prior experience with enterprise telecom services and operations is highly desirable Expert level knowledge of layer two and three network technologies In depth experience with BGP and OSPF Minimum 8 years of Internet and IP networking experience Cisco, and/or other related networking certifications a plus Experience supporting enterprise sales and sales engineering partners Cable Engineering and Operations experience is highly desirable Excellent interpersonal, organization and presentation skills Education Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science"
