"Tooling Design Engineer About this job Relocation: Yes Location: Italy - Velo d'Astico - Northeastern Italy Responsibilities of Position: ** This is a new position. We had this role before but have updated the need. It is also possible that we find someone who won't move to Italy, but will live in the US and travel to Italy when necessary. The move is better, but the right candidate is most likely in the US now and with another company like the ones listed below and doing aerospace part design. SUMMARY Three plus (3+) years design and process experience in Aerospace and Power Generation products with Seamless Rolled rings DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be required and assigned at any time. . Define forging dimensions and input weight, to insure meeting final form. . Design contour forging layout and tooling to produce contoured rolled rings. . Plan sequence of operations and specify procedures to meet customer specifications. . Analyze processes for continued improvement such as the removal of unnecessary material or reduction of cycle time. . Work with production regarding design concepts to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. . Act as a technical assistant to sales and engineering to develop new parts. . Compile data for preparing sales estimates. . Prepare bids, process specifications, test and progress reports, and other supporting documents that may be required. EXPERIENCE . The successful candidate will have experience with design in aerospace or other closely related manufactured products. . Will have practical "hands-on" knowledge of mechanical devices including rolling mills and large hydraulic presses. . Will have excellent understanding of AUTOCAD, Unigraphics, and /or CATIA. . Will be experienced in the production of forgings made from stainless steel, aluminum, super alloy and titanium materials In addition the following experiences would be recommended: . Manufacturing experience with inspection techniques or basic inspection equipment knowledge (CMM and manual). . Solid modeling / FEM experience. . Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Tool Design, Manufacturing Planning, AS9100. . Knowledge of six sigma and lean manufacturing principles. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE . The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in mechanical or design engineering or equivalent and three years of related experience or; . Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and five years related experience and/or training or; some similar equivalent combination of education and experience."
