"PCB and Systems Test Engineer About this job Relocation: No Roles and Responsibilities The Test Engineer is responsible for the successful deployment of robust, cost effective and timely solutions for manufacturing test system designs across multiple teams within the organization. They work closely with the Business Teams to achieve operational and manufacturing goals. They will also work directly with the Design Teams, Group Leaders, Cell MPE's and the Manufacturing Engineering team to implement new and provide support on existing Manufacturing test equipment. This position requires knowledge and ability to perform system integration at the most detailed level, to understand the system and each component down to the chip and software level. To provide appropriate test system design and solutions as to support lean and six sigma processes. The candidate for this position must have prior leadership experience. Showing leadership in project development and management, able to take a lead and hands on roll in design while also mentoring other team members who are assigned to the same project. Responsibilities: -Support manufacturing operations with robust designs using appropriate hardware and software solutions. -Support Business Team product development with DFM/DFT solutions. This person must have experience in custom PCB design and to have strong leadership skills that can influence design teams with best practices for test integration. -Develop/design new equipment specification and design in house and/or seek outside equipment manufacturer based on time line and project priorities with customer demands. Ensure that all operational equipment needs are met, are on time and appropriately documented. -Troubleshooting on existing manufacturing automation and test equipment during down time or to improve: cycle time, performance and operation as required by the ongoing and changing needs of the product line. -Provide associate and technician training on new or updated test equipment as it relates to the test and manufacturing process. This requires detailed understanding of the system and of analog and digital circuit designs of PCB's using DSP's. -Tasks include: Preliminary design proposals, detailed design, purchase parts, actual building and assembly, writing software, debugging, system qualification, documentation, installation, training and ongoing support for integration of product and test equipment. -Experience with interfacing microprocessor based PCB's and systems with In Circuit Test Systems (Checksum), PLC's, HMI's and system controlled intelligent products like cameras, drives, motors, sensors, etc Qualification BSEE Degree or equivalent with strong mechanical abilities. -5 years minimum experience with manufacturing Test Automation design for PCB's and systems, with well rounded knowledge and ability to apply industry equipment with custom equipment for test integration for a manufacturing facility. -Intimate knowledge of: *In Circuit test systems, Hardware and Software, (Checksum). *SPC and data collection techniques. Allen Bradley, Rockwell Software products such as: RSLogix500/5000, Compact and Control logix, RSLinx, Device net, RSsql, and HMI's. CheckSum in circuit test system programming and Boundary Scan. *AutoCad, Solid Works, Excel, Minitab. *Applicants must have strong design experience in analog circuits, digital circuits, digital interfaces, digital data communication protocols and flow control signaling. *Excellent oral and written communication skills. *Solid understanding of Poke Yoke, lean principles. *Able to lead all aspects of a fixture or machine development team, setting goals and overseeing daily design activity. *Proven ability to work independently, such as prioritizing development process and project management while supporting ongoing manufacturing."
