RESPONSIBILITIES • Plan, design, and manage the development and maintenance of Investment Risk systems. • Troubleshoot application and infrastructure problems as they arise by strategizing best possible solution in terms of resources and effectiveness • Write and debug programs; build and design the application to specifications, while adhering to technical standards; implement version controls; use debugging tools and development tools; • Translate upgrade and migration requirements of the infrastructure into impact analysis, technical specifications, migration/upgrade documents, and test plans. • Design practical, creative, conceptual solutions balancing appropriate technology, cost, and implementation time • Develop cost-benefit analysis or other appropriate business justification for business requirements. • Identify, document and translate high level business requirements into functional, technical design and technical specifications for writing code. • Lead a team of offshore developers in technical design and development of custom/product software. • Maintain functional peer relationships with project managers in IT and third-party contractors, and detailed working knowledge of the systems, organization, and business processes. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • 2-4 years of relevant IT experience, SDLC , application design, development, testing, JAVA, STRUTS, HIBERNATE, .NET, ORACLE , SQL server, Web development servers (TOMCAT/APACHE) based application programming. • High energy person with ability to interact with and influence all levels of management. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Insurance industry experience with an emphasis on Investments Risk and Corporate systems • Ability to be flexible and easily adapt to multiple different work assignment types/projects based on business needs • Ability to break down and understand complex business processes as it relates to functions like Product Development, Finance, Actuarial, Investments, Risk, etc • Ability to apply technology solutions in order to solve complex business problems • Working knowledge of operating systems and scheduling tools • Project Management experience • Management of offshore teams COMPANY DESCRIPTION Genworth Financial, Inc.
