Clariant, which is represented on five continents with over 100 group companies, employs around 22,000 people.Clariant is currently seeking an Environmental, Safety and Health Affairs Manager for the Louisville, KY location. This position will be responsible for supporting, assisting, guiding and ensuring direct compliance with Clariant Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines, procedures and expectations which include adherence to all applicable federal, state and local regulations to ensure Clariant maintains safe and environmentally responsible work practices, processes and surroundings. Position Description-Champion ESHA initiatives and activities -Support the manufacturing management in driving continuous improvement-Ensure ESHA standards are being met through personal accountability, participation, and effective systems-Establish clear, audience appropriate, ESHA procedures for the Site covering both employees and contractors-Confirm ESHA Reviews (audits) of policies and procedures, provide feedback for shared learning-Benchmark other ESHA systems and ensure efficient, flexible, cost effective systems-Negotiate with regulatory agencies as necessary to benefit site needs -Ensure facility has the ability to respond to any possible emergency-Ensure and facilitate investigation of incidents and sharing of lessons learned -Develop dynamic ESHA training both Face to Face and Computer Based -Drive people development through career and succession planning; ensure ESHA team is cross trained to convey a multi-skilled team -Proactively evaluate legislative changes and assess impact to the plant operations-Report both ESHA Progress and Deviations to stakeholders-Be an advocate and motivator for the site-Drive organizational/culture changePosition Requirements-Bachelors degree in Science or Engineering (preferably chemical) or equivalent from college/university or technical school; or more than 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.-Minimum 5 years of management experience working in a chemical plant-Skilled in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint-Knowledge of Safety and Loss Prevention programs within the Chemical industry. -Thorough knowledge and application of the EPA, OSHA, and Kentucky regulations. DOT a plus.-Experience creating and implementing Process Hazard Analyses-Excellent safety record with a demonstrated ability to approach safety issues proactively.-Demonstrated team leadership.-Excellent mechanical and spatial aptitude with the ability to learn and apply roo"
