If you share this same commitment, then we want to hear from you. Job Opportunity: Our client is seeking an Energy Engineer who wants to make an impact on building energy consumption. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with architects, engineers, contractors and stakeholders to provide energy efficiency and sustainable design services to the commercial building sector by identifying opportunities for energy savings. Responsibilities: - Work with architects, engineers, contractors and stakeholders to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance. - Identify and provide documentation of on-site opportunities for energy efficiency in buildings; provide follow-up as required to the customers. - Responsible for HVAC design in commercial and institutional buildings. Recommends HVAC system modifications to enhance energy savings, conducts design reviews, reviews and assesses sequence-of-operations, assist in the development of Operational & Maintenance (O&M) instruction manuals and recommends repairs to resolve temperature, humidity, pressurization, indoor air quality and energy savings issues. - Perform energy simulations using tools such as DOE2 (eQuest, Visual DOE, etc), Trane Trace, TRNSYS etc. - Perform on-site energy audits and installation reviews. - Evaluate energy conservation measures and assist in the implementation of energy conservation measures that involve HVAC equipment such as pumps, fans, boilers, chillers, solar collectors, the control and integration of such equipment, as well as lighting and the building envelope. - Aid in creation of electronic web based systems manual. Requirements/Qualifications: - A minimum of a Mechanical Engineering bachelor degree (or equivalent) required, a graduate degree in applicable field is a plus. - A minimum of 2-3 years of experience. - PE and/or CEM certification is a plus. - Good technical writing and excellent communication skills. - Project management experience is a plus. - Good organizational and time management skills. - Highly motivated to learn more about sustainable practices and is passionate about sustainability and energy efficiency. - Some travel required.
