"Company: Work for the industry leader in the design and manufacturing of alternative fuel systems for automotive applications. Our client provides powertrain engineering, system integration, manufacturing and assembly of packaged fuel systems and battery control systems and accessories for specialty vehicles and applications, including fuel cells, hybrids, alternative fuels, hydrogen refueling, new body styles, mid-cycle vehicle product enhancements and high-performance engines and drive trains for original equipment manufacturers and OEM dealer networks. Job Opportunity: Electrical engineering position focusing on the integration of advanced battery technology in Hybrid vehicles. Position will determine and communicate electrical requirements and concerns for hybrid vehicle battery systems. Work with suppliers and customers to comprehend all requirements, generate specifications and validation plans, oversee validation and drawing generation, and release system to production. Experience in the automotive industry strongly preferred. The position reports to the Energy Storage Manager. Responsibilities: - Generate plans, perform, and document testing of advanced automotive battery systems and chargers for hybrid vehicle applications. - Oversee and coordinate third party testing. - Interface between internal groups to communicate electrical engineering needs. - Work with customer and engineering team to comprehend system requirements. - Participate in DFMEA activities internally and with suppliers to ensure product failure modes and test plans are comprehended. - Participate in DFM/DFA activities internally and with suppliers to insure product design is cost effective and conforms to the manufacturing & assembly plans. - Generate block diagrams, schematics, and analyses required for component/system development. Qualifications: - BS or MS in Electrical Engineering. - 5 years of experience in related field preferred. - Automotive experience strongly preferred. - Strong mechanical aptitude for integration of systems into vehicles. - Electro/Mechanical Design Engineering. - Power Electronics.
