Our client, a strong organization with a nation-wide presence, needs a Senior Java Developer with Google Web Toolkit (GWT) experience for a position at their national headquarters near Fort Lauderdale, FL. This is a permanent, fulltime position (contract-to-perm also an option). To be eligible, candidates must be able to work without requiring sponsorship, and must be able to attend at least one interview onsite in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Please see more details below: Overview The Senior Java Developer will be part of a highly skilled, highly performing team of IT professionals responsible for delivering Java web applications to our internal and external stakeholders. Qualified candidates will enjoy a fast paced team environment, be passionate about their work, and make contributions that benefit the entire organization. Responsibilities • Work as part of a development team that designs, develops, implements, and maintains web and mobile applications • Work closely with graphic design specialists and other IT teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of dashboards and interactive web applications • Convert specifications and business requirements into functional application code and work with front-end designers to create functional web pages • Coordinate analytical business functions, discovering business rules and ensuring that they are handled appropriately by the business applications • Understand and adhere to industry best practices for delivering high quality code • Is an active participant in an Agile/SCRUM environment • Interact with the business and user community to gather and validate business requirements and business rules • Work according to defined scope and time lines and track work in progress • Break down projects into tasks with time estimation • Proactively identify and communicate issues • Work in a team environment with other developers, designers, product managers, business analysts • Demonstrated focus on quality (unit testing, system testing, user acceptance testing) Experience • Minimum 5-7 years experience using Java/J2EE and object-oriented design principles • Experience with Google Web Toolkit (GWT) • Experience with frameworks like Spring, Struts, Mybatis/iBatis • Experience with front-end technologies like JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax • Experience in web services like Rest, SOAP, JAX-RPC • Experience working with relational databases, including Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL • Experience with Eclipse, Netbeans, or equivalent IDEs • Unit testing tools JUnit or equivalent • Experience working with and implementing third party e-commerce services including, but not limited to: Payment methods (PayPal, Google Checkout), Customer product reviews, Site analytics (Coremetrics), SEO/SEM, and and on-site searches (Endeca, Google) • Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite a plus • Experience with mobile applications and SDKs (iPhone/Xcode, Android) a plus Education A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is highly preferred.
